Allen Danner

 

Focus of Practice

Allen is an associate attorney with the firm and is actively involved in acquiring patents for clients.  His practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the electrical engineering, physics, photonics, semiconductor, mechanical, and software arts.
 
 

Educational / Technical Background

Allen received his Ph.D. and M.S.E.E. from the University of Southern California in Electrical Engineering – Electrophysics, his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in Physics, and his J.D. degree from Southwestern School of Law.  
 
Before practicing law, Allen worked as a research associate at the University of Southern California and as a Member of Technical Staff for an aerospace company where he was responsible for epitaxial semiconductor growth employing MOCVD, device fabrication, and characterization of semiconductor structures such as quantum-well lasers, optical detectors, superlattice structures, and high-speed transistors.  Later, Allen founded a company that manufactured test equipment for the electro-optic industries and was responsible for the design of microprocessor based optical power meters and software development for embedded applications.  He has over 25 years of experience as an engineer working in the photonic, semiconductor, materials science, engineering, and software arts. 
 
 

Personal Interests

Outside of the office, Allen spends time with his wife, Gina and his children, Christopher and Jennifer.  Allen’s interests include baseball, woodworking, cosmology, and cooking.
